It is always great to work in a positive and skilled team environment!!
It is always great to be part of a team and it is also a huge opportunity to learn so much from such a skilled curriculum leader and practitioner as Anne Fromholtz!
Anne is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in primary education and leadership roles across diverse international and Australian school settings. Her expertise spans curriculum design, strategic leadership, and staff development, with a strong focus on enhancing student learning outcomes and fostering inclusive learning environments.
Most recently she was the Teaching & Learning Leader at Scotch College and Co-Chair of the Association of Independent Schools South Australia (AISSA) Primary Network, providing strategic leadership to shape primary education initiatives across AISSA member schools. As a co-facilitator of professional development workshops, she cultivated a network of passionate educators dedicated to school improvement and managing the change process.
As Deputy Head in the English Primary Department at German Swiss International School, Hong Kong, she led the alignment of multiple curriculum directives from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Her leadership focused on fostering staff cohesion, driving whole-school improvement, and promoting reflective practices through engagement with international education leaders.
Anne has also been a curriculum leader in schools in Melbourne where she helped develop a range of units of inquiry and the creation of a Year 12 certificate, providing students with enhanced opportunities to progress their educational journeys. She also successfully delivered the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in a culturally diverse bilingual school in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In the spirit of “dialogic”, Anne and I are currently working together to design further teacher and leader resources around the Excellent Schools Accelerated Learning framework. These resources will include richer descriptors of evidence around the confidence, agility and reflexiveness of learners; advice on how to weave these capabilities into the Australian Curriculum and IB; and exemplars of describing them as clear learning intentions and success criteria. She is such an experienced curriculum leader, she can support any team to grow in their understanding of accelerating students’ learning.
